What would you think should this flier come through your door?

Well, surely it is some form of sick joke. No-one in their right minds would ever suggest that you picket a memorial service for a man just because at one point in his career he happened to play a cowboy who likes another cowboy.

However this is indeed a serious request from everybody’s favourite church.  You may well be familiar with the WBC. They are the ones who run godhatesfags.com and godhatesamerica.com along with a few others. This won’t of course be the first funeral that they have picketed, anyone who happens to have homosexual tendencies is a target for them. They don’t just target gays though, lesbians, bisexuals, Roman Catholics, Muslims, Jewish people, the Swedes, the Canadians, the Irish, me as a Brit and indeed, slightly ironically, the Americans.

So in other word if you aren’t one of them they hate you, and you are going to hell. So, now they are picketting at the memorial services in America of Heath Ledger. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t just outrageous because it’s Ledger, they really are just being idiots. They’ve already had a bill passed in Indiana banning protests at funerals.

However the fact the Heath Ledger simply played a gay cowboy doesn’t make him gay, or do the WBC not understand that actors don’t always play themselves in films. Just because the man was famous that does not mean he can be used as a publicity stunt.

You cannot simply claim that God believes in everything you believe to back up simple minded opinions. So, anyone up for boycotting Leonardo Di Vinci paintings?
