Well, what a great era it’s been. it’s been wonderful. Never before have I had such a great time, and I know that I will miss this period. No, I’m not talking about the end of Blair’s decade, this is the 3 years of Jo.
As of last Friday the year 11s and lower sixth went on study leave. Obviously not such a big deal for us year 12s as we’ll be back after out ALevels, but those year 11s not signed up for the next two years as sixth formers have gone for good. And that includes one of the great members of the school’s technical crew.
As a celebration of their years with us Jo and Nicole were dragged to Chelmsford with Josh, Jordan, Adam, Mark and myself to watch a film. Unfortunately that film was Spider-Man 3, and the less said about that the better. let’s just say that you should never notice that your backside has gone to sleep before at least half way through, but I’d barely got 30 minutes in.
After said film the seven of us wandered towards Pizza Hut where the girls enjoyed their second round of pizza for the day, and we talked about nothing much whilst munching through quite a few cumulative inches.
As the evening drew to a close and we ran through the rain to the station it dawned to us that this may well be the last time we would all be together for some time, although that turned into less than 24 hours. With tears mixing with the rain, and make-up on Jordan’s shirt we went our different ways and the final day went.
The shows will not be the same without Jo as an official member of the techie way, the school will not be the same without Jo, Nicole and the other year 11s, but maybe, just maybe, these memories will outlast any sadness and emptiness we feel.
