The Empire has a heart

                          HoaE

Today sees the premier of the fan film that Star Wars fans have been waiting for. The Parkway Palace Theatre in Jackson Mississippi will play Heart of an Empire at 7pm today as part of the Crossroads Film Festival. tickets are $7 at the box office, but I’m willing to bet there aren’t many left.

For those out of the loop with HoaE, it is a fan film (which I mentioned here) about those wonderful members of the Fighting 501st. It follows the founder, Albin Johnson, and those wonderful men and women in the 501st legion as they take part in the walk for life, visit children’s hospitals and take part in the New York Marathon. It also comes back to Albin as we see how when the founders daughter, Katie, is diagnosed with cancer the family that is the legion pull together to support their leader.

We get an insight into why these people do what they do, what they get out of it, and how people see them. We all remember the comments made about how they all need to get jobs, but hopefuly this film will prove that these men and women are doing what they do for a reason, and that when they do what they do, they do it well.

The world premier is tonight, with other dates to follow. Unfortunately all of these dates appear to be in America, but I’m sure it will spread, hopefully it will turn up at Celebration Europe, I mean, where better to show a film about Star Wars fans than at the biggest Star Wars Party this side of Celebration 4?

Well done Jay, well done Albin, well done 501st.
